For this course, students worked to develop knowledge on not only the principles of modern public libraries, but the history leading up to the modern library. The course also gave students an idea of what went into observing patron trends and needs and developing programs and services based on those needs. This involved not only hypothetical scenarios, but also required actively observing libraries and the communities around them to better understand what goes into developing programming and services for patrons of a given community based on demographic results.
