For the 580: Research in Information and Library Science course, the students had to develop and execute a special project, research paper or thesis dissertation to represent a thorough understanding of research methods, terminology and analyzing data presented through collection.
For my final project, I took some time to research and analyze the data presented to develop an understanding of the relationship between patrons, librarians and understanding of technology. The librarians and patrons submitted data in the form of a survey. That data was used to create an understanding of how librarians compared to patrons in terms of technical skills (using a computer, tablet or smart phone for various tasks). From this data, I was able to draw conclusions of how patrons view their librarians as resources for using their technical devices.
